The year 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of BILL NELSON's recording career and to celebrate this Esoteric Recordings announce a new release on their recently launched Cocteau Discs imprint, the lavish boxed set THE PRACTICEOF EVERYDAY LIFE Celebrating Forty Years of Recordings." This is the most extensive and detailed anthology of Bill s astoundingly creative career to date. Over the past four decadesBill has consistently proved himself to be one of Britain s most original and creative musicians, exploring an astonishing diversity of musical styles, consistently pushing musical boundaries and earning the admiration of legions of fans throughout the world and enlightened critics alike. As a guitarist, Bill ranks as a great and uniquely gifted figure, but this eclectic selection of tracks also highlights his work as a singer/songwriter and instrumental composer.
The 1971 album Northern Dream was the first release of his illustrious career. Although recorded on rudimentary equipment at a small Wakefield recording studio, the record was a fine early example of an independently produced album. Northern Dream was championed by the legendary DJ John Peel and paved the way for Bill s future career, beginning with his legendary band Be Bop Deluxe, (a group who recorded five successful studio albums plus a live album for EMI sHarvest label), and the equally innovative Red Noise. His acclaimed solo career continued with the release of the album Quit Dreaming and Get on the Beam , and a succession of diverse releases for both major labels and his own independent company, Cocteau Records (a venture which saw Bill become a pioneer of the do-it-yourself approach to recording and releasing music).
Track listed by Bill himself, this deluxe anthology gathers together more than 150 tracks over Eight CDs. The set begins with his earliest recordings and includes previously unreleased material by Be Bop Deluxe, alongwith examples from Bill s extensive solo catalogue, exploring a wide range of styles. The anthology also includes a selection of material from his more recent albums, self-released by Bill on his Sonoluxe label. The set is rounded off by the inclusion of a bonus CD featuring two previously unreleased BBC Radio One sessions from 1981 and 1983 respectively.

Vern Gosdin was nicknamed "The Voice" by his peers. He had 19 top-ten solo hits on the Country music charts from the late 1970s through to the early 1990s. Chiseled in Stone : Gosdin signed with Columbia in 1987. He had success right off the bat with Do You Believe Me Now. He hit No. 1 with a tribute to Ernest Tubb called Set 'Em Up Joe. "Chiseled in Stone,"won the Country Music Association's Song of the Year award in 1989. Alone was an album in a traditional country style and included his final number-one hit: I'm Still Crazy . Three more made the Billboard top 10: Right in the Wrong Direction, That Just About Does It and Is It Raining at Your House.

Shenandoah released nine studio albums, of which two have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. The band has also charted twenty-six singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the Number One hits The Church on Cumberland Road, Sunday in the South and Two Dozen Roses from 1989, Next to You, Next to Me from 1990, and If Bubba Can Dance (I Can Too) from 1994. The late 1994-early 1995 single Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart, which featured guest vocals from Alison Krauss, won both artists a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The Road Not Taken was the second album released by Shenandoah and their most successful album to date. Of the six singles released from 1988 to 1990, all charted within the top ten and three of those, The Church on Cumberland Road , Sunday in the South , and Two Dozen Roses were number 1 songs on both the U.S. and Canadian country charts. Extra Mile on Columbia Records was their final album for the
label, it produced five chart singles on the Billboard country charts. Next to You, Next to Me , Ghost in ThisHouse , I Got You , The Moon Over Georgia and When You Were Mine . Next to You, Next to Me was the band's fourth Number One, and all the others except When You Were Mine were Top Ten hits. Extra Mile is certified gold by the RIAA.

Louise is the younger sister of Barbara Mandrell. As guitarist and bassist, she worked in Barbara's band, The Do-Rights, at the age of 15, and toured with Merle Haggard in the early '70s.
Louise got her own turn as a featured recording artist, signingwith Epic Records in 1978 and over several years she released a string of chart-climbing singles, including the hit country version of the Peaches & Herb song Reunited, which was recorded as a duet with her then husband, producer/songwriter R.C. Bannon.
In 1981, she signed with RCA Records, and her discography continued to expand into the decade with seven more albums. Many of her singles including Maybe My Baby all landed in the Top 10, cementing Louise s reputation as a recording artist.

Two of the duo smost important and successful albums. My Town was released on Columbia in August 2002. It features Hell Yeah , a wild, swaggering number that epitomised their attitude and turned into their theme tune aswell as a big hit. The track (also a major hit), Good Clean Fun and others are all good, rollicking country numberswhile there s also a touch of heartache in Lie Before You Leave . The album, which was produced by Nashville high-flier Blake Chancey (he produced the Dixie Chicks Wide Open Spaces and Fly ) featuresmusicians from the Allman family, Chuck Leavell and Johnny Neel. You Do Your Thing was released in May 2004 and brought two chart-topping singles If You Ever Stop LovingMe (the duo s first No 1, and No 30 in the pop charts) and Something To Be Proud Of . It was the duo s highest placed country album, making No 2 beating My Town by one position. The vast array of musicians included stylish guitarist Pat Buchanan, organist Reese Wynans (who d played in Stevie Ray Vaughan s Double Trouble) aswell as, guitarist David Grissom, better known for his work with country rocker Joe Ely. There is also a collaboration with one of the duo s inspirations, Hank Williams Jnr, on I Ain t Got It All That Bad , while queen of the honky-tonkers Gretchen Wilson lends a hand on backing vocals. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry won the American Music Awards Favourite New Country Artist award in 1999 and the ACM s Top New Vocal Duo Or Group award the following year. They would also be nominated throughout the first decade of the nineties in the ACM and CMA s Top Vocal Duo and Vocal Duo Of The Year categories. The Buckinghams were the most listened to band in America during 1967. They were given this accolade by prestigious industry magazines Billboard and Cashbox. A band so enormous at the time that almost every single they released was guaranteed to be a hit. Their first single Kind Of A Drag not only gave the band a number one hit in the States at the start of 1967, but went on to sell over a million copies. The Buckinghams played to capacity crowds in arenas and festivals, sharing the bill with Gene Pitney, The Beach Boys, Sonny and Cher, Neil Diamond, America, Tom Jones, The Hollies, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, and The Who. Thousands of teenage girls waited at concerts to rush the stage and rip clothing for souvenirs. Overnight, The Buckinghams became part of American teenage culture. Their faces were splashed onto national magazines, posters and album covers with a look and style that helped define 60s pop rock. Their horn sound turned Chicago's "Royalty of Rock and Roll" into "One of America's Answers to the British Invasion." "Time & Charges" and "Portraits" created 4 Top 10 singles. Dominating the AM radio airwaves, The Buckinghams set off a chain- reaction of demand nationwide in record stores, with hits including Don't You Care, Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song) Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, and Susan. Only Carl Giammarese and Nick Fortune remain from the glory days of 1967, but there is still considerable interest in The Buckinghams. SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY AND THE ASBURY JUKES

Southside Johnny first achieved prominence in the mid-1970s as the second act to emerge from the Jersey Shore music scene and considered part of the Jersey Shore sound, following Bruce Springsteen. I Don't Want To Go Home (1976) & This Time It's for Real (1977) were Stax-influenced, R&B arranged and produced by the co-founder of the band and Springsteen confederate Steven Van Zandt and largely featured songs written by Van Zandt and/or Springsteen.
The Van Zandt-written I Don't Want To Go Home became Southside's signature song, an evocative mixture of horn-based melodic riffs and sentimental lyrics. Other notable songs included The Fever , This Time It's For Real , Love on the Wrong Side of Town . In 1977, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukeswere
featured as a bar band in the movie, "Between the Lines." Both albums feature a number of guest artists and duets. The track "How Come You Treat Me So Bad" features a duet with Lee Dorsey, while "Broke Down Piece of Man" features a duet with Steven Van Zandt, It Ain't the Meat (It's the Motion) features a duet with
Kenny 'Popeye' Pentifallo, You Mean So Much To Me Baby features a duet with Ronnie Spector. Check Mr. Popeye features Kenny 'Popeye' Pentifallo on vocals with The Coasters on background vocals. The track First Night features The Satins on background vocals and Steven Van Zandt on duet vocals. Little Girl So Fine features background vocals by The Drifters. The album also features a cover of Aretha Franklin's Without Love .

chi Brown s classic album "O chi", possibly the most sought -after of all Stock Aitken Waterman/PWL-produced  CDs, is given a long-awaited Deluxe Edition reissue on Cherry Pop - exactly 25 years after its original 1986 release. "O chi" features the classic 1985 single, Whenever You Need Somebody , a US Billboard dance chart #1 for O chi and a #3 hit in the UK when covered by Rick Astley two years later. A duet with Rick, Learning To Live (Without Your Love) , also features one of three further UK singles together with the #23 US club hit 100% Pure Pain and Two Hearts Beating AsOne . "A thoroughly engaging album of modern love songs with a variety of beats" according to Billboard, "O chi" not only reflects the soulful styling of other early PWL tracks for Princess, Haywoode and the Three Degrees, but also marked SAW s first foray into the garage-house/pop crossover sound of subsequent productions for Mel & Kim and others. Digitally re-mastered direct from the original master tapes, this Deluxe Edition brings together the original album with no less than nineteen bonus tracks across two CDs, most of them previously available only on vinyl or entirely unreleased. A comprehensive collection of sought-after full-length 12" mixes from Phil Harding, Adonis, Dave Ogrin, Tony Prendatt & Matthew Kasha and others features together with the B-sides I Play Games and I Just Want To Be Loved and the US-only alternative album versions of 100%Pure Pain and Two HeartsBeating AsOne . The extensive booklet also features additional photos, an illustrated discography, full lyrics and new sleeve notes from PWL expert Tom Parker together with O chi s exclusive personal commentary and contributions. Tottenham-born O chi Brown was discovered by a Trojan Records producer at the age of 17. She made her name in the early 80s with a string of Lovers Rock covers, ranging from Bob Marley to "Auld Lang Syne", "A Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Unchained Melody". In 1985, the single Why Can t We Be Friends? marked a move towards a more upbeat pop sound and secured O chi a deal with Magnet Records for an album to be recorded at Pete Waterman s newly-established PWL Studios.
"O chi" was followed in 1987 by a second Magnet LP, "Light The Night", O chi s last album to date.
Original CD copies of "O chi" are amongst the most sought-after of all PWL-related releases and often change hands for three-figure sums. Now the album becomes the latest in a long line of Hit Factory classics to be reissued on Cherry Pop.

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered edition of Tangerine Dream s classic 1973 recording Green Desert . Of all the Tangerine Dream albums, Green Desert took over a decade from its initial recording sessions to completion. The project began life in August 1973 at a session in Skyline Studio in Berlin.
Locked away in Edgar Froese s personal archive for many years, in 1984 the recordingswere remixed with additional recordings at Eastgate Studio in Vienna, finally appearing in 1986.
This Esoteric Reactive edition is newly re-mastered and includes a lavishly illustrated booklet with new essay.

A remake of the 1953 film The Wages of Fear , Tangerine Dream members Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke and Peter Baumann composed a stunning electronic score which perfectly accompanied Ffriedkin s imagary and was the band s first commission for a Hollywood movie.

Esoteric Recordings are proud to announce the release of the classic 1993 album by TODD RUNDGREN, NOWORLD ORDER . The album was the first of Todd s TR-I series of albums and saw him play every instrument on the album. Featuringmaterial such as the excellent Worldwide Epiphany , Fascist Christ , Day Job , Property and the album s title track, several versions of the album were released throughout the World.
The so-called FULL version appeared first, followed by a LITE version which featured alternate mixes and versions of material on the album. In addition a highly collectable mini-album was issued in Japan, NWO (version 1.01) featuringmixes and versions of tracks unavailable anywhere else, now long deleted.
This new ESOTERIC RECORDINGSedition of NOWORLD ORDER brings together all of these releases for the first time in a deluxe edition and also adds two rare US promotional remixes of DAY JOB and two ultra rare Japanese remixes of NOWORLD ORDER making for the definitive edition of the album.
