Looking back, looking ahead: here comes ChimentidanzaSilenda, a cd+dvd from critically acclaimed Italian singer-songwriter Andrea Chimenti. A collection of 16 tracks, the cd is a journey into his whole music production – from his early days as the front man of seminal rock band Moda, to the latest solo successes which established him as one of the most versatile and sensitive singer-songwriters on the scene. The dvd features an audio-visual experiment of music and dance. The footage which directors Fernando Maraghini and Maria Erica Pacileo shot for France-based dance company Silenda meets Chimenti’s songs in an unprecedented alliance. 14 unsual non-videoclip enhance his music and give it a brand-new perspective.

 

Andrea Chimenti’s career spans over two decades. From 1983 to 1989 he was the leader of rock band Moda, and had the band’s last album produced by Mick Ronson. In 1989 he embarked on a solo career and released eight albums. Among the artists he collaborated with is David Sylvian, who co-wrote and sang “Ti Ho Aspettato (I Have Waited For You)” with him.
